Margaret Palca Bakes - Brooklyn

This little bakery is absolutely worth the walk over to Columbia street. The bakery is of course full of the delicious and creative inventions of Margaret (who is almost always back in the kitchen and so lovely to talk to). The deli style food is also wonderful and unexpectedly cheap. Any lunch is made infinitely better with the addition of one of Margaret's home made rolls.

Great sandwiches. I was strolling( lost) down Columbia Street the other day when i came across Margarets. was hungry, went in ordered a turkey avacado blt. WOW! maybe the best sandwich i ever had. Grilled chicken w/ tomato, mozzarella and pesto sounded very interesting also and seemed to be ordered frequently while i sat and ate my samdwich. nice atmosphere and people. GREAT brownie! I'll be going back often.

Great cakes !!. The bakery has made a series of birthday cakes with great buttercream frosting and rich yellow cake. They have tackled themes from Nintendo DS to dirt bikes with nothing more than a request for where a good picture is on the net. A pleasure to work with and value oriented to boot !

Great wedding cake!. Margaret Palca made a delicious and beautiful wedding cake for our daughter's reception this past weekend. The guests were very impressed and so were we. Margaret is wonderful to work with and her prices are very reasonable. This is the third wedding cake she has made for our family and the cakes have all been moist, delicious and beautiful.
