Service was very pleasant, but as so many places now, it is probably underused. There was a very pleasant waiting time for 16 of us at dinner. Although we had reserved, they were not set up for us and it took 10 minutes to clean and set up a Hodge podium of tables. Meals came in waves instead of at the same time. Some had to heat back. We had to remind her of the herbal butter toast. I had to find someone who gave us sugar for coffee. Don't disappoint the waitress. She worked hard, but needed help And even if they have difficulty getting staff, there was clearly no quality control in the kitchen, either from the cook or a manager (the meals go as ordered? Girvan is a restaurant on a golf course. Many free, free parking on the street, but you compete with golfers for the parking lot so that you are a block away.
Its definitely a small, family-owned type place, the food was decent but nothing special. It's nice for a casual meal, but nothing more. Would go back again.
Excellent! I went with my parents to the Girvan grill and fiancée for early dinner on Valentine's Day. The restaurant is located in the clubhouse of the Edinburgh golf course. Girvan Grille looks great and has a high feeling without excessive prices. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. I can't remember the bartender name that served us, but he was incredibly friendly and met with us. Girvan grille is also one of those restaurants that offer you free bread baskets while you are waiting!! What's that supposed to love? My parents and I ordered smoke and spice burgers while my fiancée ordered the chicken marsala recommended by our bartender. First from the smoke and spice burger is one of the best burgers I had in the subway area; and it's about $3,75 cheaper then my other favorite burgers that is on victory 44 in North Minneapolis. My fiancée chicken marsala was amazing! And well worth 15 dollars (you can easily spend $20 or more in other restaurants for a similar dish) I stole a few bites from my fiancé plate that in return she gave me a dirty look after the fourth or fifth time I hit my fork into her plate. My fiancé and I eat a lot, especially during the winter season. And I was actively looking for the best burger in the subway section (which I might have just found in Girvan). After our meal, my fiancées and I both agree that this is one of the best meals we had in a restaurant since we were together; and the bank did not break. We're definitely coming back. Very impressed!
Great place for brunch, price is right and the food is excellent! The only problem I had was the 18% grt. They added the bill, I understand the argument, but I type more than if the service is good what it was!
In response to the ridiculous post below, I have to say that this reviewer is clearly not interested in hot foods or wings. As a connoisseur of both I have to tell you that Girvan's Ghost Wings are not only the best hot wings (for heat) but also the best hot wings for flavor. Just because someone is not able to handle the heat of the Ghost Pepper does not mean that they are not worth eating. Shame on anyone who does not understand this.
