The Crown J.w. Basset Pub

I went to the crown for a few drinks after dinner and was appalled at the way I was treated. I arrive after maximum two drinks and was far from tipsy, but the blonde female security guards treated me In a way I would describe as harassment. I wanted to maybe get one pint and use the bathroom and was denied entry, as an adult this was insulting and humiliating given my sober state.

Recommended if you have a dog and no sense of smell. There were more dogs than people and it smelled awful.

Student mad. Being outsiders, stepping into such a student affiliated pub/bar, this is exactly what you expect when you’re coming off of the main streets and spilling into the cobbled streets of Bristol. The Music was relevant and surprisingly good, having been to a few bars that were playing some absolute clangers! First time I got up and danced during our 2 day stay. It is a little run down, and clearly needs some renovation work, but depends what you like. Some would say this is a perfect, traditional English bar and you cannot argue with that. Food I don’t try, so my rating may be a little inaccurate, but what I did like is the fact they sold Pizza slices and fast food from a food heater on the bar. Great idea for business and to stop people getting paralytic. Bouncers in Bristol are friendly I’ve noticed. Most of them happy to help, willing to chat and very lenient and understanding that people are out to get drunk and be rowdy, so the security staff at the crown get an A star! Nice space to dance and socialise. If you’re looking for drinks.. after drinks, I’d certainly start with the Crown

The staff people here are great! You don't need to be here for long to know that. Come here for great vibes, some Drum Bass and a good laugh with some great beer.

This restaurant is wonderful. Anna and Ellie were fantastic and very helpful. I absolutely adore them!
