I had the moreton bay bugs for an entree and it was amazing easily the best bugs i have had in quite some time.The mushroom tortellini with the cauliflower, white turnip and fennel was absolutely amazing and is a dish that i will definitely come back for. The apple crumble just topped off the experience and combined with the excellent service and friendly staff made for a great night out. I will definitely be back and be telling all my friends and family to go to the hummingbird bar restaurant, i can easily see this as becoming a regular dining spot.
I have visited this restaurant multiple times, and every time my partner and I were welcomed with amazing food, atmosphere, and service. It is definitely the standout dining option in Rosalie, and I highly recommend it.
The food at this restaurant was amazing, particularly the country style Fish and Chips made with fresh gourmet potatoes and fish. The Oysters were also fresh and served on a bed of rock salt. The restaurant bar had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot for a pleasant lunch.
Hummingbird is amazing. I loved the ambiance and service but the food is to die for!! Could not fault my visit at hummingbird compared to other venues nearby. This is exceptional value for a high quality dining service.
All-in-all, slightly up-market and a good addition to the range of eateries available in Rosalie. We will be happy to go back in a week or two.<br/ Some positives:<br/ Pat ordered the lamb and was really happy with it, cooked pink and, with its accompaniments, very good.<br/ As a side we had Brussels sprouts and she loved 'em, even though she doesn 't usually like them at all.<br/ For desert she had the black treacle parfait. If she could have licked the dish she would have! Let 's say it was a hit!<br/ The negatives:<br/ To start we asked for dry Martinis. They were disappointing: too much vermouth and water.<br/ I had the spatchcock, grilled breast and confit leg, a hard act to pull off, and they didn 't. The breast was a bit over-cooked and the leg well under-cooked. I think that 's probably due to some timing issues that they will quickly overcome.<br/ Ambiance is good, but we hope they do away with the doof-doof music. <br/ Staff are enthusiastic, helpful and eager to get feedback, which we gave them. They aren 't intrusive or pushy.<br/ The wine list is good, not 'the usual suspects ' and reasonably priced. .<br/ <br/
