Chemong Lodge Home Of Country Dining

They didn’t have a wine list. Kitchen was slow even though there was literally no one there. Food was okay but overpriced. And it’s definitely tired and needs an update.

Food was amazing. All staff, including servers, chefs and food servers were friendly and helpful.

We absolutely adore this restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. The view of the garden and lake is simply stunning.

Disappointing after having dinned with Chemong Lodge for years. We knew it was under new owners, and more a BBQ joint now, but when I looked on the website, I saw lamb on the dinner menu, which was what we loved previously, so we thought we would try it. We were seated and accommodated well with a table, and an umbrella which we appreciated. We received a menu and were surprised when it didn't match what we had seen online, so we asked. Our server stated that the menu was in the process of changing. She then went and grabbed the GM Jamie, who apologized but gave us a different story stating this was their first Sunday open for dinner in 6 months (no mention of this on the website, especially on the menu). I stated that it was quite unprofessional to not have the website match what you see in house, and that it was false advertising. He said he would comp our drinks if we decided to go elsewhere. The part owner then came over, slurring his words, very loudly stating that it was all over social media. We are pretty sure he was not sober. I have followed their Instagram for years, and I saw no such post. I also brought up the website on my phone to prove what I was seeing, which was the dinner menu, that only stated it was available after 4:30pm, no mention of certain days. If it had said Monday through Saturday, there would have been 0 issue, as we wouldn't have gone in the first place as we were after something specific. After getting 3 different stories, we made reservations elsewhere, and had the drinks we ordered. The server came with a receipt, stating we owed for the drinks, and gave us a snippy answer when we stated Jamie said he would comp. She later came back, and stated we are good to go. We found the whole situation unorganized and unprofessional. These new owners took an established restaurant and brand, and turned it into a poorly operated BBQ joint. The false advertising, and misleading content on their website will be the reason I will not return.

This restaurant is a hidden treasure that you must try if you're by the lake. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic.
