The birthday girl, my friend had a reservation for brunch today with her entourage of lucky 7 ladies. The hostess told my friend that she can sit anywhere so she asked me to scope the restaurant. I chose this table [hidden link] because it has cushioned seats like the booth which only can sit up to 6 people. Drinks: Mimosa 2 The Astronaut 2 ...wow for $11 you get 3 glasses out of the shaker...Oooo this cocktail was sexy and delicious Regular Coffee and Decaf Brunch: The Big Bang was very popular at my table Steak Eggs medium well and sunny side up eggs with white toast...damn their A2 sauce was better than the original steak sauce A1 haha Our server cleared out the table and came over with the same complimentary concept as Buddakan...it was the exact same chocolate cake! Overall yummy brunch spot!
Delicious dinner out for my friend's birthday. She made reservations for 8 of us at 7:45. We got there just a few minutes early and enjoyed taking pictures in their Adirondack chairs set up for what I'm sure is a great daytime view of AC. We were seated right away, and the restaurant wasn't too busy although it was a Sunday night. The table had a ginormous order of fries as a shared appetizer, split between 8 people and there was still some leftover. The sauce that came with the fries was delicious. A hummus appetizer was ordered as well, and although I didn't try it my friend said it tasted great. We order a huge variety of dinners and everyone was happy with their meal. I had the salmon for $19 which was fairly priced. I couldn't finish the portion which was deceptively big.
As one of the most popular restaurants in AC and one of the main reasons anyone ever came to the The Playground Piers #1 , the Continental broke many hearts by closing due to the hardship of the pandemic. Owned by the Starr group behind Buddakhan, both venues boarded up as COVID raged the east coast and never opened back up. Continental was massive establishment, with a fleet of workers running the show and the space to support even more folks on the inside. Their vintage theme worked well as a pseudo gimmick and was a perfect nod to the retro American classics with a modern flare. I enjoyed many brunches here, along with salad sandwich lunches with colleagues and friends, having a grand ol time every time. This is one of the few spots that had the feel of a resort meal without being in a casino. I will always remember their lobster mac that had a variety of cheese and orzo to make things fun. The french onion soup dumplings were a hit, as was their burgers and short rib sandwich. Naturally, prices weren't the cheapest but they were still more reasonable than most of the other eateries in the same space. Customer service was always on point and the place was always clean including the bathrooms! . Time will tell as to what will happen with the space. Since the Playground was officially purchased by Caesars recently, I'm sure some revamping is sure to come. Hopefully something just as good if not better! will occupy this spot. ____________ #1 [hidden link]
Beautiful space....and omg they have a fire pit out front. Menus are very chic. I was concerned with wether or not the food would be good because the options were so diverse but dissatisfied I was not. My friend and I ordered the huevos rancheros and the chicken and waffles. The rancheros were delicious...tostadas weren't soggy. The chicken and waffles were divine....chicken seasoned perfectly with tons of flavor. I also had their chocolate martini (don't remember the actual name). We also had a friend that is a vegan and they were great and customizing the quinoa tabbouleh salad to make it vegan and added hummus for her.
MAN GOD WHERE COULD IT BE?!?!? Searched high and low for this place it's inside the boardwalk building that hooks onto Caesars had no clue, and DOESNT OPEN UNTIL 11. Known for breakfast open at 11. Good thing I was dismantling the braking system on it and didn't get out and about until around then. Then upon entry to the complex from the boardwalk, we walked about 3 miles whiffing on 2nd floor, then third floor, when it was third floor and a u turn. Absolute nightmare. Got a mocha mixed drink and coffee, as well as the big breakfast. Food was good enough can't complain but really it's hard to screw up breakfast. Wasn't anything wowing just a good breakfast and a lot of it. Then again spending $65 on breakfast, was hoping for something to write home about. Staff was nice, decor was cool. But just was average. I would come back.
