Chez Fred - Bordeaux

We arrived at a fairly busy time, no seats available but they directed us to nearby public bench and served us there until table available. Very accommodating. Had a small platter, pate option, what came was just some bread stick and a jar of terrine DIY! Maybe that's normal for Bordeaux...

Nice place! Not many beer options on at the time but they made good cocktails.

The terrace is pleasant but we had the worst cider ever.

We were walking around Bordeaux late evening and called here for drinks. The service was quick and efficient and friendly! The beers were reasonably priced (unlike elsewhere in the city) and we sat outside at midnight watching the world pass by Great place!

It's located opposite porte cailhau in a beautiful old Street with stainless steel pebble-like sculptures next to it, they have a good selection of beers, wines and liqueurs and it's quite a good sun trap in good weather. Others have mentioned the staff are quite indifferent...we found one was very aloof when she served us (no smile and minimal eye-contact), but the other was very friendly and made us laugh, so it's not really an issue. Overall a great place to have a campari in the sun and read a book
