We had a delightful Nepalese dinner that was incredibly delicious. We highly recommend trying the Nepalese Mix Platter, which includes a variety of appetizers, as well as the Goat Curry. There are plenty of choices available, ranging from mild to hot. You can choose to dine in or take your meal to go.
We had lunch here because we had never tried Nepalese food before. It was well worth the effort,a beautiful goat thali( curry) ,full of flavour and very tender meat. The mixed entry was also delicious and a little different. It was also very good value for money.
We were visiting family in Maleny and they suggested we have lunch at Lumbini – great idea, guys! Although the place looks fairly unassuming from outside (read: you could easily miss it), the interior is vibrant, with walls of many hues and colourful table cloths. The lunch menu is extensive, varied and very nicely priced. A shared serve of steamed momo whet our appetites – the traditional sauce was tasty but probably shouldn’t have been served chilled, as it cooled the little dumplings down too much. Two of our group chose the Thali option, with goat curry as the centre piece and accompaniments of rice, vegetables and a pappadam. Our other group members chose a lunch-menu curry each – a Lamb Bhutan and I think the other one was a Beef Madras. Crispy roti rounded out the meal. All the food was excellent, freshly prepared, with nice service and the value was great. Well worth a visit if you’re in Maleny.
After borrowing a few books at the library, I went for a snack and absolutely loved the delicious, crispy pork dish.
