I am from MD/DC area and if we had gotten the food there it would have been 100$ plus bill but here it was decent priced with great food. Recommend hands down to anyone.
Great food. Great price. I’ve been heading to Drugens for years and drove by Hillside every time. Well with the limited hours for the other place we decided to give this a shot. More than we expected. Just plain awesome. So much food we could’ve shared. This will be our go to from now on.
This was my first time at Hillside Fish House. I love seafood and always wanted an authentic seafood joint in Winona. All I had to do was drive across the WI bridge and I was in seafood paradise. I have been missing out. I had the colossal shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and cottage cheese (topped with a sliced red onion). Fantastic 10/10. Service 10/10 (Lindsey, you were great). Ambiance 10/10. So glad I gave this place a try. I will be back soon!
The clam chowder was thick with large pieces of clam and good seasoning. The parmesan-almond encrusted Walleye special was baked to perfection. The scallops were excellent as was the grilled salmon. Service was good although there was a delay in getting our entrees. But the wait was worth it. The only negative is the wooden seats on the wooden booths could use padding.
I had the best shrimp of my life! Get the seafood platter and upgrade from jumbo shrimp to colossal. It’s worth the extra money. Seriously, they were like lobster tails! I think Webster’s should put this picture next to the word, “succulent” in their dictionary.
