The Stag And Three Horseshoes

We decided to visit the stag and three horseshoes as we used to visit quite regularly. We havent been in for a long time but decided to return for food. The pub itself is fine and food was ordered quickly and staff polite. I ordered the chicken platter and my partner ordered gammon. The gammon was ok but the rest of the dish want great. My chicken platter was so overcooked that the chicken was so dry, if you tapped it on the plate, it made a noise. This was the case for all the chicken on the plate...most of it i did not eat. Chips tasted like burnt oil. The server who was very polite did see that i didnt eat very much and i explained that it was ibedible and she offered a dessert or a drink for free. On this basis, i wouldnt return again, as the food was definately not up to standard. We were sat near to the kitchen and another customer walked up to the kitchen with his plate and had the same issue. Would i return? No.

A party of seven of us went here yesterday lunchtime. Despite being short of staff the service was very good indeed, the food was lovely and was served piping hot. All three courses were delicious. There was entertainment on and a great atmosphere. We are never disappointed in this pub. Well done!

We both ordered hunters chicken my guests chicken seemed okay mine was disgusting all stringeyi couldn't eat it

Went in for a family birthday. Food was lovely and the staff were all very friendly. It was a busy evening but food still arrived out on time and hot. Will definitely return.
