Philpotts Cafe Birmingham

Immaculately clean, spacious, wonderful staff, amazing value, great food. Open nice and early at 6 am so I was pleased to find this place for breakfast after arriving in the City.

They had really good sandwiches and the staffs were really nice . The had excellent coffee and I had the Christmas special yorkshire pudding which was excellent.

Chose to get a sandwich here as rid heard it was good. Whilst o could choose all the different elements and salad I wanted in my sandwich the price was not as advertised nor was the sandwich anything great. Disappointed, felt ripped off and I wouldn’t return

Shocking place, looked nice inside but the food was awful. Jacket potato with cheese and beans was stone cold. Latte.. cold…. I ordered a decaf tea, it came so weak it looked like a cup of milk! I took it back only to be told that’s what decaf tea looks like!!! No it doesn’t I drink decaf every day and it certainly isn’t yellow and insipid. Whilst there, two ladies took there hot chocolates back as they were cold and another lady sent her sandwich back. I was so disappointed as it certainly wasn’t cheap!

This restaurant was a disappointment. I tried to order a vegetarian falafel sandwich, but was told it was sold out and no more would be made due to electricity concerns. I ended up ordering a different veg sandwich, but was put off when I saw the lady picking up vegetables with her bare hands. It seemed like she was new and the manager was rude to her. I felt uncomfortable witnessing the lack of proper training and hygiene practices. Despite paying a high price for the sandwich, I couldn't eat it due to concerns of cross contamination. Vegetarians and vegans should be cautious when dining here. The staff need better training, hygiene standards must be upheld, and a friendly attitude wouldn't hurt considering the prices they charge. Gloves should be used to handle food to ensure cleanliness.
