This restaurant has multiple advantages : The reception is pleasant and the waiter/waitress will give you all the time needed to order. Tables are not very close each other which facilitate intimacy with your wife/husband/friends/children. Moreover, you won’t need to ask for more bread when the basket is empty. the chief (Sylvain is full of humility and appreciates to work with local ingredients, especially those from his own garden : seasonal vegetables and fruit such as cherry, lemon, zucchini, eggplant… He’s used to coming in the room to see people to collect feedback about the meals he prepared but also to answer questions. This is highly appreciable when we have questions on several dishes. questions/requests are welcome : You want to know the details behind the wording « grilled vegetables » because you may not eat some of them. It’s obviously possible to ask and if the server does not know, he/she’ll for sure ask the chief. Meals are more focusing on gastronomy aspect which does not disregard the feeling of being full at the end of the diner/lunch (provided that you’re ordering a starter, a main dish and the dessert ^ ^ The best restaurant we’ve made in Besançon, especially if you like local healthy products ! Thank you Sylvain for this great moment : we really appreciated discussing with you especially on the vegetables and the fennel I really like in your Tartare of candied vegetables !
An unpretentious place with great food and excellent staff. The kitchen worked hard to produce excellent food, the chef having absorbed Caribbean, African and other influences on a culinary pilgrimage before returning to his roots in Besancon. This resteraunt will win awards, get there sooner rather than later. We especially enjoyed very good and well priced wines, the home smoked trout, fantastic attentive service with helpful translation, and the various vegetarian options. A stable of French cuisine with a modern core not unlike the nearby museum). Highly recommended.
