Les Voyageurs - Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne

This cafe / brasserie was recommended to us by the people where we were mainly because they were open on Wednesday. We said we should go early when they're very full. We also said that it could wait a long time and that the service was variable. The first was right, they were very full, but we got a table fast and served drinks without much waiting. We ordered both smoked salmon and avocado salads. In view of how many people were served by a waitress, we didn't wait really long and still we enjoyed sitting the ambience outside on a pleasant evening. We went three evenings and when they recognized us, they were more friendly. The salad was large and good value at E16.00. We also went around lunchtime on a day for just one coffee that became a beer, then sharing a nice dish of chips, followed by ice cream. Total time spent on this occasion: 3 hours only watching the world by and relaxing. No trouble from someone to have more or to go.

During our 4-night stay in Beaulieu we were regular users, both for drinks and light meals in the evening. The cafe is located in one of the squares of the city and it is good to eat outside on the pavement or in the big area under the street. Service was fast and friendly and the inexpensive food was well cooked. It is also a great place to recover, French style, nothing to do, swallow a drink and watch all life over. We'll go back when we pass Beaulieu.

The service was terrible. The waiters kept talking. It was like there weren't the costumes...

This is a good place for locals and visitors. Serves very nice food. We dine here at least 3 times a month. Excellent duck burgers with fries and salad. Super omelet au crepes. Outside dining and big garden for groups

Go to this wonderful bistro regularly. The service is always professional and with a smile but extremely efficient. Food well cooked and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Need to book a table in high season.
