The pizza itself is fantastic—just a simple pepperoni with wonderful sauce and cheese. It brings back memories of classic mom-and-pop pizza from the '80s and '90s. I would rate it a 9.3/10, while the next best pizza in BC would only get a 7 at most.
Volcano has been a favorite for our entire family for years! If you’re not a fan of thin-crust pizza, this place might not be for you. In terms of quality and flavor, there’s nothing nearby that compares — but be prepared to spend more than you would at chain pizza shops. Be sure to bring cash, as they don’t accept credit cards. The crust is perfectly made with a light, floury taste, complemented by a delicious sauce and top-notch ingredients. It's probably the only pizza I've had that tastes just as good reheated in my oven as it does fresh out of theirs!
The first pizza I ever tasted was from Volcanos, and it was a paprika pizza. I still remember that magical childhood moment, somewhere in the 1990s. It was incredible—it felt like a revelation. Until then, I thought food was just something you ate, but Volcanos taught me that it should also be experienced with all your senses. I might be getting a bit carried away here, especially since I also recall loving Sullivan's ice cream as a kid. Nonetheless, the pizza from Volcanos left a lasting impression on me. The image of an erupting volcano on the box definitely added to the experience! As the years went by, my mother discovered her love for anchovies, and I found that I enjoyed them too. I take pleasure in reflecting on my experiences with Volcanos and appreciating their pizzas all over again. I used to meet up with other Battle Creek expats, and we always discussed Volcanos—it’s truly legendary.
Dear Volcanoes Pizza. You don't know how much you miss it until it's gone, which is brilliant on the owners part by making this a seasonal treat, it makes you want as much as you can get because you know as soon as it starts, cold this pizza goes into winter sleep and won't be back until spring.
As always this place makes the best pizza in all of Calhoun County. This is a hobby Steve likes to do and this business is only open for a short time each year. AWESOME PIZZA from the staff of Volcano Pizza.
