The Porter Cellar

Set in a classic Bath terraced building, the restaurant has two halves accessed by going into the back of the restaurant and curling back out for the second half. The rooms sort of wrap around the main entrance door and staircase to the building (the...door is separate for the residents upstairs). We were meeting friends and looking forward to a good evening. The food didn’t disappoint however we felt that the service was a tad dismissive and overly slow there was absolutely no chance of feeling rushed. On top of that, every time the door was opened we were subjected to an ice cold blast of wind. It also felt as if too many places were crammed into the restaurant a table or two less would have given a more relaxed atmosphere. If you can bear that, the food was worth it.

The food was amazing. We visit that restaurant with my husband twice. I believe there is a lovely place with lush food and very good service. thanks.

Have to admit I've not been to the Porter for quite some time now but realise what I've been missing. The quality of food it's preparation and service is possibly the best in Bath. Really enjoyed the experience and will be returning very soon.

What an excellent choice for dinner with great friends. Stylish place, attentive staff, great food and wine. I recommend this place for the high standards of its cuisine.
