This place is FANTASTIC. I had the chicken kebab, and when I got home with it I thought they had overcooked it when I looked at it... but I was very wrong, the chicken was tender and one of the best kebabs I've had (I've had a heck of a lot of kebabs). The portion size was extremely generous also. Tons of rice. And nicely dressed salad.I guess my only complaint is I wish it came with a pita naan (instead of needing to order it separate). And I wish they had hummus. But it was just so good I can overlook all that, I'll definitely be back.
Flew into town for business and looked at reviews for take-out options. Somehow this place was one of the highest rated in town with many reviews. I love this type of food so much that I’ve pretty much never not enjoyed it, wherever it’s from. Until now.HOW my experience was so different than these reviews is beyond my understanding. Do yourself a favor and read the lowest rating reviews. And believe them. They are spot on. The only positive at all is the young lady working there was very nice. The food wasn’t ready on time despite no other customers. It took me 10 minutes of calling out “hello anybody there?” Before I saw anyone. The place was so incredibly unclean I don’t think I’ve ever seen any like it, even in the most dank hole in the wall sketchiest places in Philly.I can’t believe that 1) I didn’t just turn around and RUN out 2) I ate anything at all after seeing and smelling the dirt and grime and and 3) the health department hasn’t shut this place down. Does Bangor have restaurant inspections? Because if they do they are obviously cruising right on past this place. The food was so bad I took a few bites and threw it all away. The beef gyro had beef that was seasoned very very poorly and dry, I cook this food at home so I am very familiar with the spices and how to use them. Not sure if they are bc it’s just so off and bad. There was barely any (no flavor) sauce with gross looking onions and green peppers. Green peppers?? And the pita was microwaved and leathery. The fries were limp, cold, undercooked and under seasoned. The chicken thigh dripped with grease and soft skin underneath so I didn’t bother. And my drink choices were Pepsi or Diet Pepsi.I seriously do not know how this place is in business. And I seriously don’t know how I didn’t get violently ill even only a couple bites. After this experience I feel very sorry for the young lady working there. If this is a family business I’ll assume she is stuck but if it’s not she needs to run and find another place to work. And if people here really think that food is good, I think someone just needs to open a halal cart and stand back to rake in the business. One last time: disgustingly dirty, subpar ingredients and flavor and just far too bad to ever contemplate going near that place again.
Walked in at 810pm, ordered and then settled down at a table and was then informed that the dining room was closed. Food came out at 850pm. And they promptly locked up the shop. It didn't matter that they didn't give us sauce for our falafel or that my meal seemed to be missing half of it.$65 for a shawarma wrap (that they refused to make into a salad), a chicken platter, a gyro platter, 12 piece nuggets with fries, and two orders of falafels. My gyro platter was severely lacking. I was very very disappointed. It looked nothing like the picture on the menu. This was an absolute bust. I don't recommend. All the meat was mushy. Falafel balls dry and some overcooked. Overall just no. Keep going.
I recommend Falafel and chicken tikka plate the burger and shawarma warp they are good also only the missing touch was the salt
