We had fresh halibut and a nice bottle of Canadian wine. The bartender was very helpful in suggesting different whiskies to try.
Best dinner we had in Banff. The ribeye I had was cooked to perfection. The strawberry rhubarb tart was so yummy. The staff was wonderful and the atmosphere was great.
We had not eaten for twelve hours when we entered the Sleeping Buffalo. Though we saw many tables, they were being held for guests of the hotel and we were lucky that Ben (our server) had just taken a call cancelling a reservation. He was an amazing server and the food was just spectacular. We had the roasted corn chowder which was not the cream filled heavy fare we expected. It was just wonderful. Their rosemary bread alone is worth trying this restaurant for. The free range chicken and the ribeye steak were wonderful.
The menu was extensive with lots of game options. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Can highly recommend the charcuterie board for two to share as a starter and the confit duck leg which melted in the mouth. The bison belly and striploin combo was delicious and the caribou was excellent. The rosemary bread that we ordered was also delicious and served warm but my only slight niggle is having to order and pay for bread with such an expensive meal. We were a party of three having a starter and main with two soft drinks and a glass of wine and the bill came to $194 excluding tip.
