Przekaż informację zwrotnąBrunshausen Monastery – a very small part of the small town of Bad Gandersheim. And yet a big, historic place. Founded in 9. Century as a Benedictine cloister founded today far over 1000 years old. After this alternating history: first use as a nunnial monastery, later then as a monk monastery and evangelical convention. in 1944/1945, the monastery Brunshausen was then called KZ as an outer camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. Today there is a museum of the history of Brunshausen and the monastery of Bad Gandersheim. Other parts are used as a cafe and event location, also as part of the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival. In the courtyard of the monastery, in the monastery garden and in the café, the visitor finds endlessly many and also very beautiful works of art by the owner Bernhard Löning, who has been making a name with his art since the beginning of the 1980s. The ceramics and concrete sculptures in the courtyard and garden enter a symbiosis with the planting and the buildings. Back to the cafe: not only on this rainy Friday a place to relax, find rest, refuel. Of course, there is also a coffee of the Lower Saxony traditional brand Heimbs. In addition, homemade cakes and cakes are offered. The friendly service is fixed at our table and picks up the order. From afar, I can recognize poppy cake that I order. Besides a cappuccino. Everything is delivered quickly. The cappuccino is hot (I have to emphasize), the poppy cake is just delicious. Unfortunately, I can't take photos today, I'll catch up on occasion. Even with the payment everything works wonderfully. As it is, I get a reasonable consumption bonus. You expect any restrictions? I can't serve. Perhaps the hint that a short walk from Bad Gandersheim to Brunshausen along the goose is definitely worth it. And in the monastery you can choose 2 cafes...
