Long overdue review(s)! Why? I have no good reason, but it is essential to emphasize that my first experience was the catalyst that brought me back. The vibe is that of a laid-back neighborhood joint. Come as you are, whether that’s dressed up or down. Everyone is welcome. On both occasions, the individuals that we had the pleasure of interacting with made sure to make us feel that way and provide a wonderful experience, going above and beyond to provide an excellent service. On our first visit, we requested a Bob Marley, which is not on the menu. 98% of places will always turn this request down due to a myriad of reasons, such as not having the ingredients or they don't feel like it, and you are going to get what they have and what they feel like making, or they don't know how to make it. On that visit, the stars aligned. I don’t know if they had all the ingredients or if the bartender knew how to make the drink, but he eagerly and without hesitation took on that challenge and executed it beautifully. It has been some time, so I unfortunately cannot remember our bartender's name from that initial visit. But he did an excellent job, and everyone we encountered on that initial visit was terrific, and that experience left an indelible mark. We used to live in Avondale Estates and now live in South Fulton. We were in the area waiting to pick up my daughter from an event and trying to think of places to eat. We remembered the Reuben egg rolls and the amazing service, chill environment, and great time at the Stratford on our first visit and decided to fall through. On this second visit, from the beginning, the individual that seated us (unsure of his name) was excellent and offered to turn off one of the fans on the patio as it was getting chilly. They must have a large event space upstairs as a class reunion was being held that evening for Tucker High School. Our server, Jamie, was terrific, just so lovely, and provided us with exceptional top-notch service and provided excellent menu recommendations. Even with an event going on, the quality and service did not waiver. Special shout-out to Carter (I hope that is correct), the wonderful bartender whom we did not have the pleasure of meeting; however, she made the best Dark Stormy I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. They also have a great beer selection. On both occasions that we have come here, everyone that we encountered was phenomenal. They are doing something right at The Stratford Pub, and they have managed to do it consistently for both of my visits, which is a spectacular feat. Try the Reuben egg rolls, the onion soup, and an off-the-menu item recommended by Jamie during our second visit, which is teriyaki fried cauliflower (see pic below-one piece of cauliflower was consumed prior to the pic and accounts for the empty space on the bottom left)! Chef’s kiss
Great food, beer and prices. Don't hurt me to go here.
