The Scottish salmon was perfectly cooked (beware no sides served with it, just some tomatoes). So it’s a bit on the pricier side. My friend ordered the Salmon Risotto. The risotto was perfectly cooked but I think it had a little too much herbs (thyme) taking away from the creaminess of the risotto and the flavor of the salmon. Overall the ambiance is very picture esque, but it is a but pricey. Service was great!
We went to The Birnam for lunch and the food, service and atmosphere were great! We ordered the caeser salad, beef short rib and the children’s chicken goujons with chips. Everything was really lovely.
From entering the venue, being seated, ordering and receiving the tasty offerings, the service was exceptionally good. The food is rich and flavourful with careful attention to texture and presentation. Finally, a wonderful desert capped off the experience with a refreshing tang.
Today was our second trip to the brasserie. Both birthday treats. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and a proper sun trap. You’d easily forget you were tucked away in a little corner of Perthshire. The quality of the food is world class. I struggle to compare it to anywhere else in Scotland (Michelin starred or otherwise). I’m a fan of oysters and today’s from Loch Fyne were some of the freshest i’ve ever had. Looking forward to my next trip already!
Very rare for me to post a review for a restaurant, however on this occasion I was so astonished by the meal we had I have to leave a review ! 4 of us had a steak dinner at the Birnam last night and it was out of this world. The staff and the atmosphere was fantastic. Albeit it was a treat for the average working man I’d recommend to go at some point for a special dinning experience. The staff were amazing and although it was busy, they made us feel like special guests We will be back
