Had a lovely meal. Waiting staff were friendly and cheerful and the food was really good. It was quite busy so was expecting a wait on the food but it was served pretty quickly. Nicely cooked and generous portions. Will definitely eat here again soon.
We have been here a few times, most recently today for Sunday Lunch, and it was, as always, fab food! Was hoping to see lamb on the menu after we had it on Mother's Day, (and it was amazing) but even though it wasnt on this time, we still had a great lunch. It just means we will have to return again in the future.
My family of five dined here today (kids aged 18-4). Service was timely and friendly. Food was great. Roaring fire on a gloomy afternoon. We took our own colouring books and card games. We were loud, under control and felt welcomed. In between courses the kids played outside. Not a huge play area but our lot loved it. Nice to see that walkers and their dogs were welcomed too. Nothing fancy, humble food that tasted great, reasonably priced, nice staff, friendly clientele and facilities suited us. Thank you from Liz et al hintonpest :D
What to say...well...this place is the BEST! The selection of food and drink is varied and delicious, they have a huge old fire place and they actually have fires in the Winter (so many old pubs don't ...and best of all the staff are all so friendly and welcoming! What more do you want from a pub! Cheers The Star Inn! :
