Mother Ocean Seafood Market - Asheville

First let me say I had really high hopes by seeing some of the other reviews for this place. Without being said I can tell you that I am extremely disappointed. First first we'll talk about the service. I tried to call in an order. The gentleman that picked up the phone asked me what I wanted. I started to tell him. And he put the phone down and never came back. I was just a minute away so Is my daughter went inside and When he took our order he was very rude. He made it feel like it was an inconvenience he had to wait on me. Needless to say not a great first impression. We ordered the special which was poutine, A fish sandwich, Lobster roll, Some hash puppies and a clam chowder. Most of it was too salty to eat. The hush puppies were burnt as you can see in the picture. It's a shame really because I think the food would have been good if it had not been so salty. I don't often write a review this lengthy but the poor service and food had to be addressed.

Recently moved here from Connecticut and have been looking for a lobster roll/ seafood shack to satisfy my New England cravings. Don’t want to give a poor star rating cause I want to give it another chance but for a $30~ Lobster roll, didn’t expect shells in every other bite, which is a lot. Small and big, not even sure how they keep missing the big pieces. Was a very annoying experience and diminished the overall enjoyment. Hot NE Clam Chowder was great though. The front counter was very cramped and crowded making it feel very overwhelming and slow. I suggest an online or app ordering and prepaid queue to speed up the lunch line for quick pickup.

I really enjoyed the po boys and hush puppies here! I also liked that they had sashimi grade salmon and scallops! Will definitely be back for more fresh seafood!

Tremendous seafood. Dry packed shrimp and scallops. Great sandwiches and baskets. Do yourself a favor and try it.

Best seafood in Asheville. The oyster po boy and shrimp basket are my favorites. Feels like you are at the beach
