Sometimes when you are surrounded by restaurants all offering similar food, you get a little fed up. The food is all a litte samey and sometimes a little bland in taste.Recently however, I have taken to coming to Casa Gianni - not because I am going to have an absolutely amazing three course meal, but because I don't want a three course meal. I can come here and have a pizza, a burger, a steak and they are all cooked well. The flavours are great and add in a desert and a coffee and I have had a very good meal. If the menu were more exciting, I may never bother with a 'simple' pizza or burger, and believe me - they do both of these very well, Their mini desert (like a smaller and cheaper version of a cafe gourmand) is also lovely.
A fantastic setting and a very friendly restaurant to spend an evening which does not break the bank. As mentioned in other reviews, some of the flavours were lacking in punch. The pizzas were very good value and the set meal at 22€ was good value, however to pull the meal apart - the starters lacked a little flavour - the carpacio needed seasoning, the calamari also needed seasoning. For the mains - the pave of beef was well cooked and not tough at all, but it lacked flavour and the pasta dishes lacked some ooomph. A big disappointment was the childrens chicken nuggets which on examination seemed to lack any sign of chicken whatsoever. for 22€, the meal was perfectly adequate and very good value for the area, however if the prices ever rose, I would feel that we were paying over the odds for a ,meal that was lacking a little something. increase the flavour and the prices could easily take a small increase for the location
Used this twice for lunch when at Pontneil beach ,very good food at lunch time excellent service and great value. We initially used the beach bars but this place knocks them out the park for quality and value.Lunch for 4 with wine and water approx 60 Euros.
Had a very nice lunch in the sun today (April 6, 2015). Their pizzas looked very nice, thin and crisp. However we went for the traditional moulles mariniere, a salad maritime, rose wine, pastis with ice and icecream for dessert. Total price was arround 60 euros, so price compared to quality and service is very fine. 4 well deserved stars!
