Like not cooked or seasoned well or high quality. Suddenly they don't have liquor anymore? Yes I'm aware it's a beer place but they've always had other offerings. I don't think the interior's been renovated since opening and it shows. I would bet it's just a matter of time before it's gone off main street because there are so many better places to go!
Our funeral dinner. I should note, we hadn't just attended a funeral, it's just the last time I will ever patron The Jolly Pumpkin. I could outline our seat directly across from the restroom, which people would wait in front of our table, in a line, while we ate our meal with coufs of urinal cake consistently impeding our noses, but that's a side note. No longer do they have liquor. Their salmon patties straight from ciscos. My daughter's chicken tenders meal not possible to chew, like seriously (although she has most of her adult teeth) she tried. The bill, was a bill. The meal, was a reminder of what it's like to worry about food poisoning. The ranch dressing was very warm, which is scary. The life of the jolly pumpkin is over. I mourn what is left of my memory of it.
From out of town. Waited for seven minutes by the door to be seated unacknowledged. Beer was creative and tasty, but after beverages were brought service was slow. Our table was not level and once some condensation formed one of the drinks slid off the table and onto the floor without even being bumped. The server who came to assist and clean it up said it happens two or three times a week with that table, which begs the question of why the table hasn't been fixed yet! When our food came, the sandwiches and pizza were hot but the fries were cold, to the point that one of my companions sent the fries back. Had to wait for the bill quite a while. There was a 3% surcharge which they claim is to help desk with rising costs but that should just be devolved into the process of all the items on the menu, not a take me by surprise charge. Disappointing experience considering the mostly positive reviews.
Nice to finally visit the brewery that helped me get more into sours saisons. The food on offer delicious and filling. The only disappointment was the taplist on the Jolly Pumpkin side was disappointing in that the taplist online was a month out date.
I had dinner at the restaurant on Thursday May 16. I was quite taken aback when the waitress informed me you only have two types of wine, both sweet. No other wines?? Is this your normal operation? There’s nothing that indicates the lack of wine. Also, my dining companion ordered the steak salad. It came with a whole piece of steak that was dressed with the salad dressing. Again , rather disconcerting. I’d appreciate your response. Thank you. Carol Barnas Commerce township MI
