Hy-vee Mealtime - Ankeny

As a Houstonian, it pains me to say that Hy-Vee not only rivals, but may even surpass HEB. It’s incredible. From the selection, particularly of high quality store-brand products, to the variety of shops within it (there’s a DSW and a Starbucks in this one), it’s pretty unbelievable. The prices are excellent. I was also impressed with their monthly magazine, available for free in the store. Great recipe ideas! They also have a great cart sanitizer that they actually use (compared to other groceries I’ve seen advertise but not actually use). Highly recommend!

It 's my 'go to ' hyvee! I go here for groceries, pharmacy, coffee, and/or a meal! I have recently been going through some health challenges so I 've been utilizing the drive up option to get my groceries. I have never had a bad experience with it yet! The employees are happy, friendly, and kind and do a stellar job at loading the groceries in the back of my car so that nothing gets squished or broken. All of the employees are also so kind to my kids! I have 7 year olds so we already know they 're big talkers, but the employees always talk and joke with them. It truly makes their day/night! The food selections are usually pretty good and surprisingly stocked given all the supply issues covid brought about. They have super friendly employees who are ready and willing to help anyone. Good people. Good atmosphere!

Both my fiancé and I walked out of the store and had the exact same comment.. 100% the friendliest employees of any Hy-Vee we’ve been to. However also the slowest. It took almost 20 min to get 12 cupcakes from the bakery.

This restaurant review is completely unacceptable! Customers should not be allowed to sit in the drive-through for 30 minutes waiting for their order. It is unfair to others in line who cannot leave because of how the drive-through is set up. The pharmacy needs to better communicate with customers about when their prescription is ready. I have been sitting here for almost 45 minutes and cannot move. This situation needs to be improved immediately.

The grocery pick-up service at this restaurant is excellent. I rarely receive subpar produce or other fresh items. It seems like they pay attention to expiration dates just like I do! They communicate with me via text while they're shopping my order, suggesting substitutions as needed. The staff is friendly and careful when loading the bags into my car. This service saves me so much time compared to shopping in person. Thank you!
