But I was happily surprised by the quality of the food. Everything we ordered was excellent and the setting was really nice. The whole restaurant is essentially a glass box so you feel like you're eating in the garden. Great for lunch.
We came across the café on our way back from climbing the Obelisk, all 249 steps (but worth it) and in much need for refreshment. We do not normally do vegetarian, but this was very nice, quiche and salad, soup, and fresh passion fruit juice. All for E7.90 Would certainly go back if in town again
As a vegetarian I can't believe I did not discover this amazing restaurant until the end of my trip. Heathy, fresh, and tasty! I had soup, quiche, and salad. I the middle of the beautiful public gardens great ambiance The best meal I have had so far. Vegetarian tip when in other restaurants just tell the wait staff you are vegetarian ask for a vegetarian plate. Everyone has been kind and accommodating. With the exception of this great veggie restaurant don't get your hopes too high.
We were pleasantly surprised by this- we came for the view/experience since this place is right smack in the middle of Duque do Terciera garden, and the food exceeded our expectations. I had the Prato di Dia which was a vegetarian lasagna with lentils, and my husband had a lentil burger- both were great! They also had a good assortment of desserts in a case, and the apple tart and chocolate coconut cake were both great as well.
When you visit Duque do Terceira garden and after you have climbed up to the very top you will appreciate some refreshment in this very friendly and beautifully designed cafe. You can also leaf through some photo books on Terceira and Angra.
