Phonatik - Anchorage

I ordered a large bowl with oxtail, rare beef and meatball. I was stuffed! Tasted amazing and the music selection was on point!

Delicious vietnamese food, in a modern setting (it is unlikely you have been to a vietnamese restaurant with large dragon murals! . The food is served pretty fast, so awesome. We had the salmon fresh roll and fried tofu fresh roll, both were great. The chicken and seafood pho with chicken broth were both delicious as well. The #13 rice plate with pork was good as well, it comes with a bowl of broth and salad. The staff came by a couple of times to check if we needed anything. We recommend trying Phonatik.

The restaurant features a pleasant atmosphere with clean, minimalist decor. The staff is friendly, polite, and attentive. I ordered the rare pho, and the broth was excellent—just the right balance of richness and flavor without being too heavy. However, I did wish there was a bit more meat in my dish. I opted for the small bowl, which was just the right size for sharing a banh mi sandwich with my friend. The pork banh mi was very tasty, with a perfectly crunchy exterior and soft inside. The pork was crispy and flavorful, although I felt the portion could have been a bit larger. The fresh carrots and lettuce added a nice touch, and I added a little chili oil for the ideal kick. The pho at this restaurant was fantastic! I appreciated the incorporation of Alaskan-themed names for the dishes. When people think of Alaska, they usually don’t associate it with great pho, but this place exceeded my expectations. I ordered the combo (without the tripe and tendon).

The food is great, but what really stands out is the exceptional service – it’s by far the best in town. If you value excellent service and enjoy good pho, especially during the colder months, don’t miss out. Make sure to stop by!
