The Fish House - Americus

Long story short, we got a low country boil and it was perfect. Great food, great service. 10/10

Service is slow. Food is hot and delicious!! Had a grilled catfish, corn on the cob, hush puppies (good) and regular Cole's slaw. Hubby had Texas toast BLT. Ambience is lacking but worth going in and eating there.

The service was great and they were very friendly there. They explained what deviled crab was. They do offer grilled and fried options of most of the fish there as well. I felt the fish was quite good but the sides were average. The hush puppies were good though. The food kind of felt like it took a long time to come out but I was very hungry so it may have just been me. We sat in the outdoor area so it was quieter than we think the inside was. The prices were also reasonable. If you want to know what deviled crab is: it's kind of like having crab cakes on the half shell. They were pretty good really.

This is a good and bad review. My wife and I were not starved so we ordered a 2 piece flounder dinner with 2 sides to split. The sides were French fries and cole slaw and hush puppies. Every thing had an excellent taste. The flounder was especially good. So I am giving it a 2 because of the quantity of flounder. It was nowhere near enough for 1 person. I would have been extremely disappointed if I was the only one eating the serving of fish. The quantity of all the sides were as expected.

Foods always good, but the place is always FILTHY! It's obvious that upgrading the place is out of the question. 1 toilet for years. I guess if the money's coming, who gives a......
