Nourish At No44 - Amber Valley

Four friends and I went to this restaurant for lunch. We were seated at a table upstairs where there was no heating, so we had to eat our meal with our coats on. The waiter informed us that there was an issue with the boiler, but despite the food being decent, the experience was ruined by the cold. One gentleman even kept his coat and gloves on throughout the meal. When we went downstairs to pay, we were told that the heating was on, but it was still cold. There was no apology for the discomfort. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience and do not plan on returning.

After hearing so many good things about this restaurant, my partner and I decided to give it a try. Despite living in Belper for many years, we had never been before. We opted for breakfast one morning and found the place to be bustling, especially for a Wednesday. It was clearly the popular spot in town. The breakfast we ordered was decent, though the bacon was overly crispy, almost to the point of being too tough to eat. The staff were friendly and efficient, and there was a lively vibe in the restaurant. While we might not return for breakfast, we are considering coming back for a drink and perhaps trying one of the delicious pastries on display at the counter.

This is a great spot for a cozy cup of tea or coffee at a reasonable price. The service is good, the decor is nice, and the seating is comfortable. What more could you want?

We went here for Sunday dinner and it is always the best most EPIC meal. Wonderful choice of vegetables, creamy mash, crunchy roast potatoes and a choice of meats. I had the roast chicken and it was delicious. This place really knows what it’s doing. The serving staff are so polite and pleasant. The tables aren’t too near to each other so you have your own space. It’s clean too. The best venue in Belper and surrounding area.
