Good experience. I arrived at Ken and Dale at 6:30 on a Sunday night. The place was quite abandoned. The interior looks like a sports bar, but without the establishment of a sports bar. The menu was more medium scale until the price goes. You will find the usual burgers, chicken, steaks, seafood dishes that you might expect in Nebraska. I went with the chicken fried steak, potatoes, dinner salad and cup chili. The food was not disappointed and my server was excellent. The only drawback was another server standing at the bar and very loudly announced their drunk activities from the night before.
Had a decent pig dinner for a fair price and fabulous Rhabarb cake, homemade by Dale.
My wife and I have eaten breakfast here a few days ago, on the way to vacation, and really liked it. Maybe lunch and/or dinner really take a dive, but we liked it so much, we stopped on the way back home. I don't understand the bad reviews. We'll stop next year.
Froid. Stopped in with a friend last night on our way home to Wyoming. Good atmosphere and good service. Server was helpful with the menu. I had grilled salmon. It was a bit dry and lacked a strong grill flavor, but much better than most I've had in the mountain west. Next time I'll try the broasted chicken. Yummy, spicy taco chicken soup. The sides were good. Creme brulee was warm, creamy and yummy, tho the carmelized sugar was way too thick. My friend was quite pleased with her steak and sides. It seemed to us that the food had a fesh and homemade quality. We would come back and much prefer this over Olive Garden , Outback and their ilk. Sorry that the locals don't appreciate it. Maybe they should consult their tip calculators next time.
