Despite visiting my hometown periodically over the past 15 years and seeing many new restaurants, I never came across vegan options until now. During my recent visit, I tried their donuts, apple fritter, breakfast burrito, quiche, and coffee. While most vegan donuts I've tried have been mediocre, these exceeded my expectations and were delicious. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!
Great coffee and donuts! Clean and neat location. Lots of options to please any palette.
My family and I have been customers here since it was sugar shack. My kids love the donuts and fries. We used to come here all the time but lately whenever we come here they never have any donuts in stock. We tried again today and it will be our last time ever coming here again. We were having a bit of a rough day so decided to get some donuts and food. They were out of all donuts so we decided to just order from the menu. We stood in front of the two workers looking at the menu for a while and when I looked back down at them I saw them exchanging really rude glances that were very obviously about us. As I kept looking at them that’s when one of the workers finally said that the kitchen is actually going to be closed. It was only 2pm so we were confused but just said okay and left. When I looked at the hours later I saw that they’ve changed to 7am 2pm. Instead of exchanging rude glances they could have just let us know as soon as we walked in that they were closed/closing soon and were out of donuts. I always tell my kids to spread kindness to everybody they meet because you never know what anyone is going through and your kindness could be what changes their day and this was unfortunately a good example of just how peoples rudeness can make you feel worse when you’re already having a rough day. We won’t be returning or recommending.
This is one of my favorite vegan breakfast spots in the area! The tofu scramble breakfast burrito is super flavorful and the tortilla they use isn't too thick. Like any burrito, you run the risk of it falling apart but I love when it does because that's just a sign they stuffed that jawn to the max. The salsa that comes on the side is mild so I just add in my own hot sauce. If you're in the area, definitely use the Too Good To Go app to get some end of the day, discounted doughnuts! Too Good To Go is a way to receive unsold restaurant food at a discounted price as a way to combat food waste and encourage everyone to be more sustainable. I got a box of half dozen doughnuts for about $5!
My absolute favorite in winter for a warm coffee and a doughnut. Staff is very friendly. Their pastries are probably the best in Alexandria.
