Food on presentation looks fabulous. On the first night of our stay, I ordered the fish of the day which was twice cooked salmon; smoked and pan fried, with a side of veggies. The fish was cooked very well, and also the veggies, however both lacked any seasoning. I had to add salt to everything, as the chef had failed to add any, so the meal was quite flavourless. Just felt like an extremely basic meal, which didn't match up to the high price of the food.My husband ordered braised lamb shank, in gravy with veggies. Again, the lamb was cooked perfectly, falling off the bone, and the veggies were cooked well, however no flavour. The gravy was a flavourless and jelly like, and the lamb was not seasoned at all. Just plain lamb. I think most people would expect at least some garlic and rosemary at minimum. Again, husband had to cover meal in salt to enjoy.Due to the overpriced unsatisfying food, we went to the local pizza takeout the following night. On our third night there, we were hoping to give the restaurant a second chance, however much the same experience. We ordered 3 entrees to avoid paying for an overpriced main we would not enjoy.First was pork belly which seemed to be marinated with honey, however could barely taste the honey and was not even sweet. Just a mild touch. Nothing else. Plain pork belly with a touch of honey. The most positive flavour experience I had was the slaw which was a side to the pork belly entree, beautifully flavoured with chilli and lime. The second entree we tried was scallops with prosciutto. The prosciutto was cooked to a crisp with no flavour left in it, and the scallops again, unseasoned, with an addition of a flavourless white mash of some kind - possibly cauliflower or potato, so flavourless it was hard to tell. Just a white, sticky cream on the side which did not complement the scallops at all. Our third entree was garlic bread which we thought if all else fails, at least we will enjoy our garlic bread but unfortunately it was a dry overcooked toast experience. The dessert was pleasant, we ordered baked cheesecake which on the menu failed to say it was actually an "apple crumble cheesecake" was a cross between an apple crumble and a cheesecake. I enjoyed it, however hubby had stated to the waiter when we ordered the cheesecake that we were choosing cheesecake because hubby did not like apple crumble!! (As the waiter had offered apple crumble as a special of the night). You would assume the waiter would then inform us that the cheesecake was an apple crumble vibe. He did later offer us an alternate dessert when we mentioned it to him, but we don't like to see restaurants lose money so we declined. Staff were pleasant however nothing memorable to list. All in all the food experience was upsetting and I should have looked at the reviews before booking as part of the joy of the holiday is the food and I would not return for this fact. I hope the hotel manager takes this into consideration if they want to see their resort a future success as I wouldn't return so I'm sure there would be others who feel the same.
Had dinner there. Service was slow and inexperienced. Knew nothing about the wine list[ surely a little training of the young staff is possible?]. Food when it arrived 45 minutes after being ordered was good. No atmosphere. Liked what we had but wouldn't go back.
Highly Recommend this place. I had the slow cooked Beef cheek which was to die for. Very friendly and helpful staff and beautiful position views overlooking the swimming pool. Highly recommended
Saturday night and we chose to sit out by the pool. The atmosphere and scenery where a delight. The staff where very pleasant and friendly, the Maitre D is a charmer from way back. Now to the food, unfortunately for this beautiful Restaurant, it's food is rather industrial and clumsy. The Waygu Sirloin was disgusting, full of gristle, it was by far the worst steak I have had in a long time. My wife's fish with an Asian slaw was much better and she enjoyed it very much. I may visit again just to see if I caught them on an off night. But really, a restaurant cannot afford an off night, especially with the prices they charge.
