Wonderful place, great food, top propietrari, total relaxation.
We went three nights in a row to this charming place. Superb quality of food, service and charming atmosphere and place convinced us that we don't want to risk anywhere else as we know lot of restaurants at Garda, but none of them convinced us about the quality and approach to perfection. Starting with high quality olive oil on the table and very professional, yet friendly service. We have tried nearly all the items on the menu which is written on the black table. Enjoyed especially Tagliolini with tartufo, Vitello Tonnato, Cottoleta Il Pigno, Parmigiana, Filetti di Tonno... all great experience with Lugana Otella. Laura and Robi who served our table are super positive and sympathetic people, thank them for great time. We found out that there is also beautiful accommodation, so next time staying in this zone, we are going to enjoy also the stay there.
This trip wasn't planned at all. Away from tourist Garda we drew a good 15 minutes, and got to a place that looked so promising. Honestly; great ambience, great rural view, really friendly service, menu with all the great classics. Why, oh why does the food have to be such a disappointment?! We were a party of eight. And not a single one of us wasn't outspoken disappointed, and bare I mind; there were absolutely no expectations from any of us. But e.g. to do a classic Vitello tonnato for instance, how hard is that? The place is a hotel too, and THE conversation at the table was only about, that we HAD to come back to this place on vacation as soon as possible.... until the food came. Il Pigno, please, no matter how much you like him; get a new chef, and you have yourself a killer restaurant/hotel, that could change everything. Didn't see the hotel rooms, but even if they were poor, I would stay here in a heartbeat , if the kitchen took it up a notch.
You know what you are doing if you own, renovate and managae an Italian restaurant/agriturismo where the Italians feel themselves comfortable, thats one. Secondly Laura, a good old friend has made it happen that the place also attracts a large audience of non-italians. Everything matches, food, drinks, the location, the decoration, the smell of the herbs in the fields, her personality, and character of the region, it has never been that good since the time she started to run that place almost 13 years ago and its even getting better, she is always searching new wines, tries different dishes and that has resulted in a very seasoned well balanced menu which usually contain simple but very tasty dishes, local specialities and also seasonal dishes. Add that to the amazing atmosphere and you find yourself in probably the best holiday/living experience you can get among the numerous 13 in a dozen agritourismos you will find around the leg. This one stands out and does it in an authentic yet cosmopolitan way. I have been over there 20 times now and when i dont visit the place i start to miss it.. sniff. i recommend this place to everyone who likes
