After discovering that one of my favorite BBQ spots in Abilene is closed on Mondays, I started searching for another place to dine. WELL, after reading some reviews about...
Make sure to try their fajitas and order them medium rare! This restaurant is a beloved fixture in Abilene, and there's a great reason for that. I've been visiting since I was a kid, and I...
We ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with vegetable sides, a two-meat plate featuring sausage and chicken, a kid's cheese stick plate, and a kid's chopped brisket sandwich. All the meats were delicious, and the sauce was fantastic—I opted for the spicy version. Before our meal arrived, they served us some bread, which included two types of cornbread: regular and jalapeño. The fresh cornbread was a delightful treat. The potato salad was excellent, though it had a mashed potato consistency rather than being chunky. Our waitress was very friendly and took great care of us. We were a bit surprised to see that the staff was not wearing masks.
I had heard about this restaurant for a while and finally got the chance to visit. I wish I hadn’t waited so long! It’s definitely worth your time. I tried the smoked grilled chicken breast, and it was delicious—moist and succulent. The location is great, too. My cousin, Ronnie Gill, even cut the mesquite lumber for the bar as well as the shelves and restaurant doors. There’s also plenty of parking available. This place is a winner! I’m looking forward to returning next time I’m in town.
