Nepenthe - Big Sur

Best restaurant ever. Ever. The view left us speechless. The food was wholly memorable. The service was delightful. The atmosphere is relaxed and joyful. An absolute must.

The food was excellent. The restaurant has an external and an internal area. Inside, it was too hot, and there were many flies; the staff used a hand vacuum (to fail) to deal with the flies on a glass window. Just avoid the internal area, the outside looks better, and fly free

Found this restaurant via CBS Sunday Morning 9/1/24 episode.... and what a find! It's just south of Pfeiffer State Park on PCH, a most lovely drive from the north. Parking was easy, a bit of a wait (although less of a wait than we were told) Service 5 Star Food 5 Star ...and what a view! The menu is not long; we highly recommend Ambrosia burger, steak and bean salad .

Straight up many might disagree but I think the food was okay, maybe a tad bit better. But this has absolutely stunning views, the staff is amazing, Laura our waitress was the nicest and the atmosphere is fantastic. I will definitely go again but maybe try a different dish, but 5 stars for staff, location and atmosphere!!

Great views and food. Go for happy hour or eat dessert first! Also has full meals. Heard the fries are amazing!
