The service was faultless even though they were really busy, Leanne was the person we saw most, but other staff spoke to us when she was busy and they were all fantastic, we really felt everyone cared. I'd pre informed them about an allergy, and they were totally on the ball, taking care to avoid using the food that causes the issue. The food was fresh and delicious, all the sweet treats, scones and pancakes were homemade, and there was a generous pot of whipped double cream with lovely wee jars of jam. The sticky toffee pudding cake was on another level of good, and there was a lovely selection of sandwiches. The coffee and tea was perfect, and we were all given a second cup at time that suited us, such a lovely touch. We enjoyed buying a few treats in the shop before we left.
The pancakes are amazing!! Loads of different toppings to choose from be quick though if you come later they'll be sold out! That happened to us the 2nd time we went but the waffles were really fine too.
We stopped by this coffee shop on our way back from a fantastic family getaway in Cullen. The atmosphere was lovely, prices were very reasonable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The shop offered a variety of goods for purchase.
I have been a loyal customer of Dean's for many years and have always enjoyed the cafe. However, I am starting to notice a decline in the overall quality. During a recent visit for lunch with friends, we experienced long wait times for our food and even received the wrong order. Additionally, they no longer offer complimentary shortbread with the coffee. On a positive note, the restaurant does have a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options available.
I am a huge fan of Dean's shortbread which is the best in my opinion. However lunch at their bistro recently was poor at best. Long wait, hard thin toastie, insipid soup and bloomer bread served to my wife still frozen. Expensive for what you got...the burger at £12 did not even come with chips. Won't be back.
