Granted the exterior is not fancy at all but once in the door you'll be met with the great aroma of bbq, and the welcoming, friendly owners. Very casual atmosphere. Meats and a tasty variety of side dishes. Even some options for vegetarians/vegans. Generous portion sizes. Reasonable prices for what you get. Several tasty made-on-site sauces. We enjoyed the brisket, ribs and some sides. Delicious. Especially liked the Whiskey Peach and Garlic Aioli sauces. Highly recommend you try the Grill Sergeant. We'll be back!
Amazing food. loved the different sauces and large portions.
People who care about the food they serve, and the service they provide. Small Business, Woman Owned Business, Veteran Owned Business. Delicious smoky smell, with veggie dishes. My picky kids ate it all. If you are from out of town it is hidden from you from the main drag through town. All you have to do is drive around the block on 7th or 8th St. It is a half block detour, enroute to the beach.
I will confirm with all the other reviews that the bbq itself was decent. I had the brisket. It did have quite a bit of fat but still tasty. But no matter how good the meat is your sides must compliment. The beans had a really strange flavor and the browny roll? was hard as a rock. Cornbread was decent but not great. The lemonade tasted like a barnyard smells and I am not exaggerating. I ended up throwing half my meal away. First and lasting impression.
Just so so BBQ nothing to write home about. We like to support vet owned businesses, but Sgt Brands was sort of disappointing. Limited offerings, poor location in the food court of an old (mostly deserted) shopping mall. Plenty of parking, easy wheelchair access, open food court style seating.
