The gift shop had a variety of specialty products from Nagayama Town. Popular take-out items included "soft cream" made only from milk from cows raised in Maoshibe Hills, and "Genghis Khan steamed buns" made with Nagayama Genghis Khan. They also sold homemade sake. The restaurant also takes pride in their ingredients, offering meals with a view of the sunset through its full glass windows. There are a total of 8 farm stands at the direct sales store, where farmers bring freshly harvested vegetables of the day at a cheaper price than the market. They also sell meat buns and small rice dishes, which are hard to resist. There is also an observatory where you can enjoy panoramic views of both the Ishikari Plain and the hills, as it is located at the eastern edge of the Ishikari Plain. It is said that on a sunny day, you can enjoy watching the sunset behind the mountains, so I would like to see it when I come next time.

First visit on 2022/06/11. I had been curious about this place for a while and finally had the chance to stop by. It is famous as the nearest michi-no-eki (roadside station) from Sapporo, located along the Ishikari Kaido and Route 274, making it easily accessible from the Obihiro direction as well. The bustling direct market is full of fresh produce, which I believe is one of the main reasons why this place is highly rated. I definitely want to visit again.

This large roadside station features various food-related facilities such as food stalls, markets, and restaurants. It has a distinctive shape consisting of a white square building combined with a brown cylindrical building topped with a transparent triangular roof. The parking space is quite spacious, and the plaza is also relatively large. The souvenir shop "Maui no Oka" inside is small in size but offers a wide variety of products. There are coffee vending machines, UFO catchers, and game-style candy machines, making it a perfect rest area. The restaurant on the second floor is characterized by its structure allowing diners to enjoy their meals while looking out at the scenery through large glass windows. The outdoor market mainly sells vegetables at affordable prices. With food stalls and food trucks offering various food items, it is a place where you can enjoy both indoors and outdoors. Due to the abundance of facilities mentioned above, the place tends to attract a large crowd, making the plaza quite lively. As a result, it is important to be mindful of maintaining a certain distance from others around you.

休日に行くので、基本混雑している印象。 ただ販売スペース以外の空間が広めなので、キッチンカーで購入したものなんかはそちらでゆったり食べることもできます。 道の駅は何か所か行きましたが、個人的にはお野菜が安くて美味しくて、お気に入りです。 施設内も綺麗でした。 が、毎回中のレストランではなくキッチンカーに飛びついてしまいます。 食後のコーヒーすら、施設前にいらっしゃったキッチンカーを選んでました…

平日の火曜日なのに沢山の人で賑あっていました。取れたての野菜が沢山売っていました。4階の 展望台から石狩平野が一望です。
