Biàn Qìng Yì - 南三陸町

This is a must-visit for sushi lovers. Whenever I go to Sansan shopping street, I always have lunch here. There are other delicious looking restaurants, but I always end up choosing this one. It is really delicious. The quality of the food for this price is very worth it! The nigiri set for 2500 yen is recommended, but the reasonably priced lunch bowl of the day is also tempting. Today's bowl was a flatfish bowl for 1400 yen, topped with ginger, and it was so delicious that I wish it could be added to the regular menu. Enjoy it with a medium-sized draft beer for 500 yen!

I arrived at Benkei Sushi around 2 pm and had their sea urchin rice bowl. Other restaurants had long wait times or were sold out, but Benkei Sushi was easy to get into and had the sea urchin bowl I was looking for. The taste was sweet and delicious, and the fresh sea urchin was definitely different from others. I was very satisfied.

I tried the sparkling sea urchin bowl, seafood bowl, and salmon and salmon roe bowl. Each bowl seemed like it might not be enough for a man, so it might have been good to order three dishes for two people. We shared the sea urchin bowl and I had the seafood bowl. The sea urchin was truly in season - sweet, incredibly rich, with crunchy salmon roe bursting with flavor. Every bite of sashimi made me groan in delight. It was a luxurious experience, and even though it's not close by, I would love to go back when I feel like treating myself again.

炙りまぐろ中トロ漬け丼と、鮭親子丼を食べました。小ぶりなので、息子にはちょうどいい量ですが、男性には物足りないかも… ウニの季節だからか、丼物全品に600円でウニのトッピングができるそうです。 イクラのトッピングもありましたよ。 休日なので、どの店も行列でした。
