I visited the okonomiyaki restaurant "Carrot" near Hansaka Station on the Sanin Main Line in Shinonsen Town, Hyogo Prefecture for the first time. It was a bit difficult to find as I'm not familiar with Hansaka, but I tried the modern okonomiyaki for 670 yen with an additional topping of beef tendon stew for 100 yen. It turned out to be a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with plenty of tendon filling, which made the flavor rich. The base price is 470 yen, with toppings available for an additional cost. Despite the somewhat hidden location, I felt that it was a restaurant recognized by the locals.

I visited based on reviews. The restaurant is located in a residential area a little off the main road. There are two parking spaces in front of the store and two more on the left side. Inside, there are two tables at the counter where okonomiyaki is cooked, and four traditional tatami seating tables. This time, I ordered the recommended negi suji yaki for 670 yen (tax included). The okonomiyaki was cooked at the counter and brought to the table, but toppings are added by the customer. I chose sweet and spicy sauce, bonito flakes, seaweed, and mayonnaise. The taste was excellent, with plenty of green onions, a creamy texture, and a nice chewy texture from the suji. Many elderly customers were also present, and it seemed to be a beloved local restaurant.

Most of the customers were locals and the gizzard was delicious. The okonomiyaki also satisfied our stomachs.

この近辺では数少ないお好み焼き屋。 ミックス焼き、牛スジのほか自分好みのメニューも注文可能。 サブメニューに豚のしょうが焼き、おにぎり等も。
